Electerm is a free and open-source terminal program suitable for /ssh/telnet/serialport/RDP/VNC/sftp connections, and it works on Linux, Mac, Windows, and can even be deployed on servers via WEB.
For beginners, it is software used to connect to Linux servers. Through this program, you can connect to your Linux server to install Baota, build websites, maintain servers, etc.
Electerm is recommended because it is open-source, free, available in Simplified Chinese, and has no backdoors. You don't have to worry about PC inspections; all data is in your hands, and the software itself does not record any data. It has 10.9k stars on GitHub, making it a very excellent and conscientious project.
Electerm Website#

Download and Install Electerm#
Open the official website, and you will see different download options for various terminals. Here, I will demonstrate using the commonly used Windows system.
Find the Windows X64 installation version, choose GitHub, and click to download and install directly.
During the first installation, Microsoft will pop up a risk warning. Click on more information, then proceed to install. You can ignore the risk warning; there are no viruses or backdoors, so feel free to use it.
Set Chinese#
After installing the software, open it, select the settings button on the left, and as shown in the image below, you can set it to Chinese mode.
SSH Connection#
SSH is suitable for Linux servers, which are commonly used for website hosting. When you purchase a server and are ready to install the Baota panel, you can use this software to connect.
Open bookmarks on the left, select SSH on the right, enter your server IP, username (default is root), and port (default is 22).
Then pull down to select connect, or save and connect. If you choose to save and connect, the software will record your account password, which you need to be aware of.
The image below shows that the connection was successful.
Next to SSH, there is also SFTP, which is similar to FTP functionality, making it easy to transfer files directly to your Linux server.
Remote Desktop Connection#
This feature is generally used less frequently; most people use the built-in Windows remote desktop. However, since this software has this feature, I will mention it here.
If you really can't find the built-in Windows remote desktop connection, you can use this software as a substitute. Just enter the remote host's account password to connect.
