Recently, the offline business has been a bit busy, and I haven't provided tutorials for everyone in a long time. I saw that the author of SeyouCMS, Mr. Wang, has updated the program to version 18, and many templates have also been updated. Since I have some time, I decided to tidy up the websites and servers I have on hand. Today, I bought a new server specifically for SeyouCMS to create a site cluster. I mainly want to see the performance of the SeyouCMS program and record the earnings from the site cluster.
Newbies are advised to first look at the SeyouCMS single-site building tutorial: https://xzhan.xlog.app/seyoucmsjiaocheng
Domain Name#
The domain names used for the site cluster are all currently idle and not much used by me. Some were acquired, some were used for demonstration sites in the past, and some were registered on a whim but never executed. There are about 7 or 8 in total.
If I have time later, I will update the progress of the entire site cluster on the website.
Server#
The server is still a European anti-complaint machine, configured with 2H4G80G, 10TB of traffic per month, and 1GB bandwidth.
Server Panel and Installation Environment#
It is still the international version of Baota, with the installation environment being Nginx 1.24 + MySQL 5.7 + phpMyAdmin 4.9 + PHP7.4. The database is actually not needed; I installed it to use with another program.
Installing SeyouCMS#
Point the domain name to the new server IP address, then create a website, apply for an SSL certificate, and upload the SeyouCMS source package to the website root directory.
After modifying the PHP settings, wait for the data download to complete.
The data download time depends on the server's bandwidth. Mr. Wang, the author of SeyouCMS, mentioned in the group chat that it is not recommended to use low-bandwidth machines in Hong Kong, as it may lead to data download failures. Therefore, everyone should try to use servers with larger bandwidth. My server took about 10 minutes to complete.
Seeing a normal X site interface indicates that the program has been installed successfully.
Site Cluster Settings#
After logging into the backend, find this in [System Settings], and select the data storage location as: system/tmp/ directory, then click to save and modify the configuration.
We will point the second domain name here, create a website, then unzip the source code, and directly enter the backend of the second website. (The homepage will also display data downloading; you can ignore it.)
After entering the backend of the second website, find [System Settings], and similarly select the data storage location as: system/tmp/ directory, then click to save and modify the configuration.
Now, when you enter the second website, you will find that it opens instantly because it shares data with the first website, perfectly saving the server's hard disk space without needing to download data repeatedly.
Follow the same steps to create subsequent websites.
